  Our school

Our school was established in 1968, and the number of the students was about 40.

These 40 students learnt in rented rooms, in very harsh conditions, it took a long time till the school had its own building.

But in the educational bound, the results were very impressive; the students’ number grew up as the time passed, new learning directions were open, and the number of students who got Bagrut certificates was much bigger.

In 1996, the school made a new record; the number of students in the school was so great, therefore a new high school was built in 1997.

In 1998, the school name changed to be named after Dr. Hisham Abu Rumi, who was the mayor of the city, and died in that year.

Mr. Khaled Hijazi: Principal of school.

Mr.Khaled has studied Electronics and Computer as his B.A degree, and has continued his studies for the M.A degree in education. He has been working for twenty years in school as a teacher, supervisor and as a member in the administrative part in school.

In 2005, Mr. Khaled became the principal of school and has been trying to bestow the best for the school.

Mr. Khaled says that: "The most important thing for us is our students; we, as the administrative part and as teachers are working hard to give the students all they need. We are trying to improve the school in two fields:

§        Achieving high marks in the final exams.

§        Educating the students to build up the society.

In addition to the Bagrut exams, we have put an important goal in front of us. We want to give the opportunity to pupils to succeed in other fields as well. This encouraged us to ask for and participate in the project.

The group of pupils who participated in the project has been learning theoretically most of the time. The project gave them the opportunity to apply theory in practice.

In my opinion, success is not only winning the number one in the competition. The fact that the pupils have succeeded in constructing the robot according to the instructions is a success itself".
